Weddings, like you, are multi-dimensional, and they deserve to be photographed that way. My approach isn’t rooted in just one style of photography. I bring my background in photojournalism along with my passion for fashion, architecture, art and design into a wedding day so that different parts of the day get the attention and photographic style they deserve. Whereas most of a wedding day is inherently photojournalistic, there are moments that require thoughtful guidance and directing. My expertise lies in making that happen with ease while keeping true to the story of your day.

THE EXPERIENCE

I'M ZAI LAFFITTE.​

It’s pronounced like “hi,” but with a Z, and “la-feet,” as in the historic suburb in Paris. My name tells the story of my family, whose roots are in Lebanon and throughout Europe. But me, well I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Miami. 

I tell you all of this because there’s no better way to explain why my heart is pulled in so many directions geographically. I long to stay close to home, yet cannot ignore the deep desire to explore the world and where my roots are tied. Over 15 years ago, I dreamed up a life in which I could do just that while following my passion of photography, storytelling, and creating human connections with strangers. 

Here I am now, more than 15 years of wedding photography later, eternally grateful for the opportunity to do exactly what I love based in both Miami and Europe, serving destinations all over the world.
